Even though the school was initially established as a private institution, it was taken over by the State Government in 1975. Following the government take-over, the school was renamed “Adolo College”. However, due to the persistent pressure from the Old Boys, the name was eventually reverted to EDO BOYS HIGH SCHOOL in 2008.
